Why are grip socks mandatory?

Grip socks are mandatory for all children in all play zones — no exceptions. This rule protects your child’s safety and upholds our facility’s hygiene standards. Our insurance requires it, and all flooring and play structures are designed for traction-based play.

Can we bring our own grip socks?

For general admission and smaller groups (fewer than 10 children), outside grip socks are permitted at your own risk. However, Adventure Alley cannot verify the cleanliness, grip quality, or safety of other brands and therefore assumes no responsibility for any slips, falls, or injuries that occur as a result.

For birthday parties and group bookings of 10 or more, only Adventure Alley Grip Socks are permitted. Our insurer has advised that in larger group settings, it’s difficult to verify the cleanliness, grip quality, and safety of socks brought from home. To ensure consistent traction and hygiene standards for all guests, party attendees must wear Adventure Alley Grip Socks that meet our safety requirements. This policy isn’t meant as a restriction—it’s simply to ensure consistent safety and comfort for everyone. Every Adventure Alley birthday bundle includes Adventure Alley Grip socks. This ensures every child is equipped for safe play and hosts can relax knowing everything needed for a seamless celebration is already covered.

We’ve heard your feedback about grip socks—especially from families who’ve already celebrated birthdays with us—and we’ve updated our policy to reflect what we’ve heard. We know it’s been a hot topic (trust us—we get it!), but every update we make comes from our commitment to creating the safest, most seamless experience possible for kids and parents alike.

Grip socks have always been an important part of keeping our playscape safe, clean, and fun; they help prevent slips, protect equipment, and make sure every guest enjoys the same quality experience. In the past, socks were a separate add-on for party bookings. Now, they’re automatically included in every birthday bundle, so hosts don’t have to worry about extra steps or last-minute additions. The total bundle price has been updated to include grip socks for all child guests, bringing everything families need into one easy, all-in-one package.

What about adults?

Grip socks are not a requirement for grown-ups—just make sure to wear regular socks in all play zones. Bare feet and shoes are never permitted in any play area, helping us maintain a safe and hygienic space for everyone.

What happens if we forget or refuse to wear them?

If a child arrives without grip socks, a pair must be purchased before entering the play area. Guests who refuse will be denied access without refund, credit, or compensation. This policy is non-negotiable — it helps ensure every family can play safely and confidently.

How much do they cost?

Grip Socks are $5.99 + HST per pair for general play. 

Why can’t we use regular socks?

Regular socks — or bare feet — can be slippery and raise hygiene concerns. Adventure Alley Grip Socks are specially designed to meet our strict safety and cleanliness standards. Other brands just can’t guarantee the same level of traction and care.

What if someone gets hurt wearing their own socks?

Guests who choose to wear non–Adventure Alley socks (in approved cases) do so entirely at their own risk. Adventure Alley and its affiliates are not responsible for any injuries, slips, or falls that occur due to unapproved footwear.

Can we get a refund if we don’t agree?

No. By purchasing a ticket or booking a party, you agree to follow all Adventure Alley safety rules — including our Grip Sock Policy. Failure to comply may result in removal from the facility without refund. This ensures a safe, happy, and consistent play experience for every family.
